Parish of Lockington

St Mary’s, Lockington, St Paul’s, Mitiamo, St David’s, Milloo, St Luke’s, Dingee

The Parish of Lockington is situated south west of Echuca, covering an area of 1500 sq km. of mixed farming. The eastern side of the parish, Lockington and Milloo, is mainly dairy farming and to the west, around Mitiamo and Dingee, there is a mix of dairy, cropping and fat lamb production. It is not a heavily populated area, with the largest community, that of Lockington, with about 400 people. The total population across the parish is only about 2,500 people.

There are services in each parish centre just about every Sunday.  Service times are organised on a two monthly programme. The parish relies heavily on the ministry of some excellent lay people and teaching focuses on a proper understanding of God’s word. Services vary in their liturgy, with a mix of both traditional and contemporary styles. A home group is presently running in the parish, and a men’s dinner is held at both Lockington and Dingee on alternate months.
