Rural Ministry Trust

At Synod in 2017 the diocese established a Rural Ministry Trust based on a bequest of $50,000 from the Rev’d Trevor Bulled who was ordained in the Diocese of Bendigo but spent nearly his entire ministry in the Diocese of Brisbane.

The Rural Ministry Trust was established to undertake the following tasks:

  • To assist parishes in remote and rural areas of the diocese from time to time in meeting payments to the Ministry Fund.
  • To allow grants to be made to remote and rural parishes in the diocese that will assist with the provision of ordained and lay ministry
  • To assist with any charitable or welfare purpose in remote and rural parishes

Bishop-in-Council is empowered to invite applications to the Fund consistent with the purposes of the Fund, and to determine which parishes are to receive payments from the Fund.
